Aftercare

Keep them crystal clear

The coating cures and hardens over the first few days — a little care early on protects your finish for years. We'll run you through all of this on the day too.

First 24 hours
Let It Cure
  • No water at all, including rain — park undercover for the first day if possible
  • Don't touch the lens; oils from skin can interfere with the coating bonding
  • Let it cure at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature swings
First 72 hours
Hold Off on Washing
  • No automatic or brush car washes
  • No pressure washers directed at the headlights
From then on
Normal Care, Zero Upkeep
  • Wash as part of your normal routine with a pH-neutral car shampoo and a soft microfibre cloth or mitt
  • The coating is maintenance-free once cured — no extra products or reapplication needed
Never use on the lens
  • Ammonia-based glass cleaners (e.g. Windex)
  • Abrasive pads or polishing compounds
  • DIY sanding, buffing, or reapplying coating yourself — these strip or damage the layer we applied
  • Automatic brush washes or pressure washers aimed directly at the lens — favour hand washing or touchless washes
Extend the life of your restoration
  • Park in shade or a garage when possible to limit UV exposure
  • Avoid parking under trees prone to sap
  • Rinse bird droppings, tree sap, and bug splatter off promptly — left to sit, they can etch into the coating

Your 1–3 year warranty stays valid as long as you follow the care above — no abrasive products or tools, no DIY sanding or polishing, and no automatic or high-pressure washes aimed at the lens. How long does a restoration take? +
Most cars take 60 to 90 minutes including the UV sealant, depending on whether we're doing one headlight or both. We work at your home or workplace, so you can get on with your day.
How long will the results last? +
The UV sealant keeps lenses clear well beyond the warranty period in normal conditions. If yellowing, hazing, or peeling shows up within 12 months, we redo them free under the warranty.
Can every headlight be restored? +
Almost all yellowed or foggy lenses can be restored. Damage inside the lens (moisture, cracks, or failed internal coatings) can't be fixed from the outside. If we can't restore yours properly, we'll tell you before any work starts and you won't be charged.
Do you come to me? +
Yes. We service the Sunshine Coast from Caloundra to Noosa and surrounds, and we do the work at your home or workplace. All we need is safe access to the vehicle.
What does the warranty actually cover? +
Yellowing, hazing, and sealant failure within 12 months of the service date. It doesn't cover physical damage like stone chips or scratches. Full details are on the warranty page.
